Ramallah Center for Human Rights Studies published the 25th issue of its Tasamuh, journal, a periodical that is dedicated to discuss tolerance and human rights issues.
This issue included a number of articles that discussed and analyzed the current Palestinian situation.
In studies and Article section, Dr. Iyad Barghouti, the chief editor of the journal, published an analytical article on the new American policy in the Middle East. In the article “The Issue is Larger than a Dispute over the Government”, the political analyst, Hani Masri, discussed the effect of forming the thirteenth government on the Palestinian political future as well as the aim beyond forming this government. Besides, other articles discussed the Palestinian national dialogue, its aspirations and repercussions, an article on Birzeit elections, what we have done to keep Jerusalem the capital of the Arab Culture and finally an article on the role of the left forces in the Palestinian national dialogue.
This issue also included a group of reports that discussed the academic freedoms reality in the Gaza Strip and media discourse of the students’ movement during student’s council elections.
In the Laws and legislations section; a study on the legal situation of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) and another one on guarantees of pushing toward the independence of the judiciary. In the cultural section a study on tolerance in the thought of Sakakinin.
In the issues Forum, a summary on the first conference of the Arab Network for Tolerance held in Beirut. It included a summary on the conference activities where seven reports on the state of tolerance in the Arab World were presented, besides, the first tolerance award presented to D. Salim al-Hoss the former Lebanese Prime Minister.
