Ramallah Center for Human Rights Studies published the 24th issue of Tasamuh (“tolerance”) periodical. Tasumah’s objective is to spread the culture and values of tolerance and human rights throughout the Palestinian community as well as the broader Arab world.
This issue includes a discussion of the impact of Israel’s offensive on the Gaza Strip and its repercussions locally and regionally. This edition also includes a collection of articles that analyze its impact on the Palestinian political system and how the different components of this system are dealing with this offensive. Other articles include studies of the predicament of Palestinian representation after the aggression on Gaza.
This issue included two reports on the realities of life in the Gaza Strip and the effect of the offensive on the lives of Gaza residents with respect to health, economic and social issues. The third report discusses the media performance during the war on Gaza.
In the laws and legislations section, this issue includes two studies on the legal mechanisms available for the purposes of prosecuting the Israeli leaders for war crimes and a study on the period of the mandate of the Palestinian president.
In the culture section, this issue includes a study on representations of the “other” in the poetry of Mahmoud Darwish. Finally, the seminar of this issue is dedicated to study the predicament of Palestinian representation in light of the new realities created by the Israeli war on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
