RCHRS published a report on the state of tolerance in the Arab World. This publication is part of the Arab Network for Tolerance activities supervised by RCHRS that aims to disseminate the culture of tolerance in the Arab World.
This report is considered as the first to document the state of tolerance in a number of Arab countries through special indicators prepared and developed by RCHRS. When applying these indicators, the circumnutates of each country were taken into consideration where the difference depends on social, economic and political progress in those countries.
This report includes reports on the state of tolerance in seven Arab countries which are; Egypt, Tunis, Morocco, Yemen, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Palestine. Goal of these reports is to create a cultural atmosphere in the Arab World that is concerned with the civic peace, tolerance, real democratic practices and human rights for all individuals and nations. To reach a point where fanaticism that leads to conflicts and splits is reduced and demolished.
This publication tries to explain that tolerance that it seeks to disseminate is an international concept and is part of the human rights convention, and it doesn’t mean in any case to give up the individual and common rights. This publication insists that the occupation is the main factor to impede instilling a culture of tolerance in the Arab World.
It is worth mentioning that RCHRS publishes regular reports on bi-yearly basis where it documents the state of tolerance in the Palestinian Authority Territories.
