Opening of the Eighth Exhibition of Tolerance in Ramallah

The Eighth Annual Tolerance Exhibition opened in the French German Cultural Center hall in Ramallah Saturday evening and will continue until Monday.

The exhibition came in conjunction with the celebration of the International Day of Tolerance, which falls today. The exhibition hosted many drawings that express tolerance in Palestinian society.

The head of the board of directors of the Ramallah Center for Human Rights Studies, Yusef Rimawi, attended the 8th annual exhibition, and pointed out that the exhibition aimed at spreading the values and the principles of tolerance not only locally, but to the Arab world also.

Rimawi, stated that the tolerance exhibition is an annual tradition carried out by the center, which seeks to work with a number of artists and designers through workshops, the poster competition, and other activities to try and recruit art and artists in service of spreading the idea of tolerance in humans.

He said this year’s exhibition includes a collection of young artists’ creations. The artists put their talents to use to express their views of tolerance through art. Furthermore, Claire Dupuy of the French German Cultural Center, said that the center feels honored to host the show, especially since it calls for tolerance among human beings.

For her part, artist Wafa Tarifi, said that she participated in the exhibition to highlight the issue of honor killings, adding that the number of women killed as a result of honor killings reached 26 this year.
